The Progressive - Founded
in 1993, the Progressive Media Project solicits, edits, and distributes
commentary (or "op-ed") pieces to daily newspapers in the United States
on a full range of domestic issues, as well as on issues of foreign policy,
peace, and international cooperation.
The Nation - The Nation will not be the organ of any party, sect, or body.
It will, on the contrary, make an earnest effort to bring to the
discussion of political and social questions a really critical spirit,
and to wage war upon the vices of violence, exaggeration, and
misrepresentation by which so much of the political writing of the day
is marred.
-- from The Nation's founding prospectus, 1865
CounterPunch - CounterPunch is the bi-weekly muckraking newsletter
edited by Alexander Cockburn and Jeffrey St. Clair. Twice a month
we bring our readers the stories that the corporate press never
prints. We aren't side-line journalists here at CounterPunch.
Ours is muckraking with a radical attitude and nothing makes
us happier than when CounterPunch readers write in to say how
useful they've found our newsletter in their battles against
the war machine, big business and the rapers of nature.

The Institute for Policy Studies "An institute for the rest of us" -

once said, is "an Institute for the rest of us."

Project CensoredThe Primary Objective of Project Censored
is to explore and publicize the extent of censorship in our society by locating stories about significant
issues of which the public should be aware, but is not, for one reason or another. Thereby, the project hopes
to stimulate responsible journalists to provide more mass media coverage of those issues and to encourage the
general public to demand mass media coverage of those issues or to seek information from other sources.
FAIR -Fairness and Accuracy In ReportingFAIR, the national media watch group,

marginalize public interest, minority and dissenting viewpoints. As an anti-censorship organization, we expose
neglected news stories and defend working journalists when they are muzzled.
